Nurse Mimi (Naomi) is a registered nurse with over 7 years of experience working with different age groups and populations. By night, Nurse Mimi works as a medical-surgical nurse in acute care and by day, she runs her own business- Nurse Mimi Aesthetics- as a cosmetic and paramedical tattoo artist, offering services such as brow permanent makeup (ombre powder brow and combination brow styles), lip blush/lip neutralization, scar/stretchmark revision & camouflage.
With multiple certifications, extensive education and experience in this aesthetic field, Nurse Mimi’s mission is to help her clients walk tall, as they feel gorgeous and unstoppable. What to expect:
- Healing duration may take approximately 7-14 days. Duration varies among different individuals due to skin type and lifestyle.
- It is normal to have swelling or redness for the first 3-4 days.
- There might be a stinging sensation near or on your brows.
- The brows may look darker and thicker for the first few days.
- Crusting or flaking of the skin may occur around day 4-5.
- When the scabs are completely flaked off, you might notice that 30-60% of colour will fade. The colour will resurface 2 weeks later.
- The initial session helps us to see how your skin accepts the initial application. It is advisable that you schedule a touch up appointment to ensure sure all the desired results are achieved.
It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in.
If it is performed properly, brow PMU should last anywhere between 18 and 24 months. Once pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, you’ll need to come back for a “touch-up” application. Touch-ups can be necessary every six months or every year, depending on your skin type and preferred look.
We use a topical anesthetic so there is very little discomfort. In fact, many clients fall asleep during the treatment!
The cost of a touch up depends on the length of time since your previous treatment. The longer the time, the more pigment has likely faded, the more work needs to be done to touch up your brows. We will review all pricing with you in your consultation!
You will have very clear instructions for aftercare, which is essential in the healing process in order to achieve the best results. There are certain limitations regarding sun exposure, sweating, going in a pool, etc. for a brief time after the treatment.
Here is how you can prepare prior to procedure:
- Do not drink alcohol or caffeine for at least 24 hours before the procedure
- Do not pluck your eyebrows 24 hours before the treatment
- Do not exercise on the day of the treatment
- Do not take any blood thinning medications/supplements such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil, etc.
- If you have a Botox appointment, make sure it is done 4 weeks before any of these procedures
